Food, Glorious Food

Ahh, food. I like food, and I like eating. Quite obvious is the fact that I am growing. I consume around 3500-4000 calories a day which surprises me. I'm surprised that I weigh only 124 pounds. I eat constantly, I eat when I'm bored, when I do homework, watch TV. If I'm not eating, I'm always hungry. I have a rather strange taste in food. According to my mother, I live on a caveman diet. I absolutely despise vegetable and pasta and cheese and eggs. I only eat meat (not lamb), carbs, sweets and my only fruits are mango and watermelon. My favorite food from around the world are Mediterranean, Asian (mainly Chinese), and Mexican.
My favorite Mediterranean foods are gyros, and shawarma which is a type of chicken with some seasoning on it, and obviously, rice. Whenever I'm at Pita Inn, Naf Naf Grill, or Charcoal Flame, I can't get enough of the gyros and shawarma. The gyros are a perfect concentration of beef with pita bread and the shawarma washes it down as the white meat. Also, the fried potatoes (not french fries, there's a difference) are awesome. The perfect concentration of salt. You cannot get a better combination than this. Let's head farther east, shall we.
My favorite Asian foods are Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Chicken Katsu. Every once in a while, I hit up PF Changs, Lao, or Pei Wei for the Chinese. Now, Chicken Katsu is Japanese. I had that when I was in Key West on vacation about two years back. So the Chinese food, I like to refer to as sweet meat. This is because the sauce and seasoning is fruity or tangy. Orange Chicken for instance, has orange seasoned sauce and has orange juice squeezed into the rice. I love rice of all kinds, if you haven't noticed. But, the orange, lemon, sweet and sour, and sesame all have sweet or non-salty seasonings. Chicken Katsu is fried chicken with a special seasoned sauce called Katsu on it, it's quite simple there. It isn't sweet.
Heading back to our continent and to our neighbors down South, we're at Mexico. Let's just get rice out of the way. I like it. We get it. Let's move on to the good stuff. Whenever I go down to Chipotle or Burrito House, my chicken, steak, white rice and guacamole burrito on corn tortilla is waiting for me. The perfect amount of dry and wet all in one warm, soft tortilla. It really is beautiful.
