Breckenridge 2018
The new year came and went and 2.30pm finally rolls around and I get in the car bound for Colorado. 1075 miles, 16 hours, 4 states. Fast forward to 2.00am after the time zone change so 3.00am in this case my dad gets tired and stops to sleep. It's -11 outside and he turns off the car. Do you expect me to sleep when it's maybe 10 degrees in my car? Really? So my jacket is on and I try to sleep but I'm beyond uncomfortable and then my dad turns on the car and the heater and I'm burning. No luck for me and I don't want to wake up my dad by taking the jacket off so I don't sleep at all. I was trying to text people on Snapchat to no avail as it was 3-4-5am in Chicago. I decided to be the weirdest person in the world and attempt to gain the #1 overall world ranking in the game of guessing airport codes also to no avail (I'm still #2). I got bored and began staring at my surroundings: a Sinclair gas station, a TravelCenter of America sign reading gas prices and "OGALLALA TRAVEL CENTER" as I was in Ogallala, NE. Finally at 4.30 my dad got up and we went to Denver and 3 hours later got to the airport to pick up my chicken mother and brother, who I now call chickens because they can't sit in the car for 16 hours. We then went grocery shopping to stock up our hotel room's kitchen. Finally, I saw my favorite sight, mountains and my elevation climbed to 10620 feet. At that point I said I'm 10000 feet taller than my friends on Snapchat and my phone number returned to its rightful home, Western Colorado. Two hours later, Breckenridge, ah, Breckenridge. The final destination and a chance to get out the car and to see mountains. The next 3 days would bring skiing, skiing, and more skiing. The three days brought me speeds of 57 mph on skis, some double black diamond runs (expert only difficulty) and three days with a good friend of mine. On Satruday night (06/1/2018) at 11.30pm I finaly got home after 13.5 hours in the car from Denver. The time of my life came to an end.
